Free Will, 2004

 

The ten thousand monkeys locked in a room with 10,000 typewriters, who have been trying to write Hamlet since, well, like forever, have finally done it.

They also tried their hand at Lear, and Othello, and Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. Most of the time it is the women who get the main parts.

This romp through theatre and the traditions of poetry, theatrically staged and sung, began when I played Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream in 1975. next
